About our family
We would like to introduce ourselves as your hosts: We are Britta, Thomas and Nils and we have immigrated to Canada from Germany in July 2009. Our dog Sally became part of our family when we bought the house. Sally is a mix of a German Shepard and a Border Collie.
How it all began:
In 2006 our son Nils went on a trip to the province Ontario with his grandparents. They spent 3 exciting weeks there touring the province with a camper and they had a lot to tell when they were back to Germany. Nils told us that everything there was different, everything greater, more extensively etc.. He was mostly impressed by the nature, the big cars and the trucks he had seen and made us curious. Since we had already wanted to visit friends of our parents in Ontario for a long time, we decided to go for it.
In the summer of 2007 we flew to Canada. There we spent 3 great and thrilling weeks. We were so enthusiastic about the scenery, the animals and the friendly people we had met that we took the decision to spend the next vacation in Canada as well. We visited the province of New Brunswick, discovered this wonderfully situated Bed and Breakfast and spent a few unforgettable days there. An idea was born!
In 2008 we seized the emigration process and in April 2009 we finally got the approval to immigrate to New Brunswick. At that time, “our” Bed and Breakfast was on sale. Because we have had fallen in love with the place and the area so much, our decision was taken very easily: the Bear Island Bed and Breakfast should be our new home in Canada.
In July 2009 we moved into our new home and could already welcome so many dear guests here.
